SUCCESSFUL explorer Breaker Resources claims recent drilling results from Bombora east of Kalgoorlie “create potential for a single large 2.2km-long open pit”.

The drilling discovered new “high grade steep and flat (lying) gold lodes in several areas … (that) materially increase the width, depth and strike extent of high grade mineralisation in the main discovery zone”.

A headline result of 9m grading 35.88 grams per tonne was reported.

Breaker also said the results increase the potential for long term underground mining given 11 of 18 recent diamond drill holes intersected “significant mineralisation 150-200m vertically below surface”.

Bombora is part of Breaker’s Lake Roe project 100km east of Australia’s gold capital.

A maiden resource is anticipated in the current quarter, with two RC and two diamond rigs currently in action.

Breaker raised A$10 million in cash last August by issuing new shares priced at 70c each.

Shares in Breaker were up 14.5% to 71c in early trade capitalising the company at $102 millon.
