Breaker Resources executive chairman Tom Sanders said it’s unclear just how large the Bombora gold discovery is.

Sanders told the Resources Rising Stars conference on the Gold Coast that the Bombora prospect at the Lake Roe project outside Kalgoorlie had the three key attributes one would want in a project – quality, scale and location.

“It’s a large, rare, greenfields gold discovery,” he said.

“Nothing adds value like discovery.”

Bombora has been defined over a 2.3km strike length after around 80,000m of drilling, and remains open along strike and at depth.

“This discovery is young,” Sanders said.

“This is supposed to be a mature gold province, but it’s not.”

Breaker released more drilling results today that further confirmed the quality of the discovery.

Results released today included 9mat 53.29 grams per tonne gold from 31m, including 4m at 119.24gpt; 28m at 6.01gpt gold from 40m, including 12m at 11.2gpt; and24m at 3.62gpt gold from 12m, including 16m at 4.68gpt.

“Again, they’re clustered in the area we’re building the resource,” Sanders said.

“Anybody looking at those results would say they’re not bad – they’re very good in fact.”

Breaker is working towards a maiden resource at the end of the year.

“How big is this thing? I don’t know,” Sanders said.

While Breaker is targeting an initial open-pittable resource, there is also underground potential.

“I think there’s going to be more gold here below 100m than there is above,” Sanders said.

Infill drilling has also highlighted new laminated sulphide-rich lodes that are “floating in space” with no surrounding drilling.

“We know that when we drill, we find a lot,” Sanders said.

Further results are due in the next two weeks.

Shares in Breaker rose by more than 5% to 72.5c, close to the all-time high of 76c set in September.
