Shares in Breaker Resources were up firmly yesterday after the explorer announced the highestgrade gold intercepts yet from drilling at its Lake Roe project 100km east of Kalgoorlie.

Breaker reported seven metres at 61.78 grams per tonne gold including four metres at 105.4 grams per tonne at just 59m from the surface.

The so-called bonanza grade discovery was part of a second round drilling campaign, with assay results pending from a further 27 holes.

Breaker said the new results highlighted a previously unknown, sub-horizontal high-grade gold lode at least 100m in east-west extent in cross-section It said the latest results further bolstered its case for large open pit mining along a 2.2km-long stretch of its Bombora gold discovery.

Breaker’s executive chairman Tom Sanders said the results provided further confidence in the grade, scale and economic potential of Bombora.

“The RC infill drilling program has successfully identified highgrade shallow gold lodes not readily apparent in the earlier widespaced (100m x 40m) drilling,” he said. “The increase in drill density is starting to give us an improved understanding of the geometry and structural controls of the high-grade zones.
